Miryam Boston, Associate, Intellectual Property
I am an Associate in the Intellectual Property Enforcement and Protection Group at Fieldfisher. I trained at the firm gaining experience of IP enforcement, protection and also non-contentious IP work. I also spent six months on secondment at the BBC working in Rights, Business and Legal Affairs.
I advise on a wide range of IP disputes in relation to copyright, patents, trade marks, database rights, passing off and domain names. I have experience assisting clients in disputes in various forums including the High Court and the Intellectual Property and Enterprise Court. I advise clients across a broad spectrum of industries, with a particular focus on the media sector. I am currently working on a large copyright and database rights claim due to go to trial in the High Court next year.
I recently completed the Post-graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford, passing with a Distinction. I am also a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and IPSoc (the society for junior IP practitioners).
I studied Law at Queen Mary University of London and am pleased to still be involved with the university through coordinating Fieldfisher volunteers attending their Legal Advice Centre.
In my free time I enjoy dancing whether it's attending ballet and ballroom classes or performing traditional Scottish and English dances with my dance team at events and festivals across the country.
