Jonathan Brooks, Partner, Corporate
I am a corporate partner in the firm's London office and a member of the firm's equity capital markets team. I act for both companies and advisers on the London Stock Exchange's AIM and Main markets, advising on flotations, secondary issues and takeovers. In addition to my public company work, I act for entrepreneurs, growth companies and owner-managed and family businesses from start up through to exit. My work includes advising such companies and their angel, venture capital and strategic investors on seed capital and series A etc fundraisings as those companies grow both organically and through mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.
My clients are in a wide range of sectors, including energy and natural resources, technology, life sciences and healthcare and financial services and I am a member of the firm's FinTech, life sciences and healthcare, energy and natural resources and Africa practice groups.
I head the firm's mining and metals team acting for mining companies and investors with projects in Africa, Australia, Central Asia and Europe. I advise companies at every stage of the minerals and metals supply chain from explorers, developers and producers through to metals traders. My work includes licensing, mine development agreements, joint ventures and co-operation agreements, earn-in/earn-out agreements and offtake, smelter and other sales agreements. I am recommended as a notable practitioner in Chambers UK 2018 for Mining, while Legal 500 UK 2017 Mining and Minerals notes "his long experience in the sector commands respect". I have been listed in the International Who's Who of Mining Lawyers since 2013 and I am also recommended in Legal 500 UK 2017 for M&A: Mid-Market and for Trade Finance.
I have a keen interest in history and aviation, as well as the fortunes of the England cricket, football and rugby teams.
