Fieldfisher wins Law Firm of the Year at the prestigious Legal Business Awards
Fieldfisher has been named Law Firm of the Year at the prestigious Legal Business Awards held last night at Grosvenor Square, London.
In this category – the highest accolade of the ceremony – only the most outstanding UK law firms of the last 12 months make the shortlist, so to win this award is an incredible achievement. Fieldfisher won ahead of finalists Allen & Overy, Clyde & Co, Osborne Clarke, Watson Farley & Williams and Stewarts Law.
In deciding the winner, judges looked for firms that have taken the market by storm and have achieved more than their direct competitors and peers. Achievements include the successful development of new practice areas, expansion into new international or domestic markets, new client wins, the completion of a strategic merger or acquisition, improved financial performance, or a successful recruitment policy.
Judges commented: "In the last 18 months, this pace-setting firm has completed four strategic mergers in Italy, Netherlands, China and Birmingham. This is reflected by steady growth in recent years and a 36% increase in revenue in 2016/17 to £165m – the largest growth of any law firm in the Legal Business 100. The firm also completed a striking 22 lateral hires during the last financial year."
Fieldfisher Managing partner, Michael Chissick, comments: "I am thrilled that we have won Law Firm of the Year. These prestigious awards are hugely competitive, and I am very grateful to the talented team around me, the communities and markets we serve and, of course, to our dedicated clients. This recognition, and winning Law Firm of the Year 2017 at the British Legal Awards, is testament to the incredible year the firm has had and I'd like to thank my whole team for their contribution".
This award follows our win of Law Firm of Year at the British Legal Awards, and previous recognition including Law Firm of the year in Western Germany 2017 at the Juve Awards and Condor Alternative Legal Solutions winning the FT Innovative Lawyers Award for Best New Business and Service Delivery Model.
