Fieldfisher attends Accessible Festival 2018

17/08/2018
The team from Fieldfisher attended this year's Accessible Festival on Sunday 1st July at Bury Athletics Track in Bury. This event is a free accessible music and activities festival for children and adults with disabilities and their families. Accessible Festival continues to go from strength to strength; this was the festival's fifth year and over one thousand people attended.

Fieldfisher Partner Jenny Urwin arrived early to help set up the event and was then joined by other keen members of the Fieldfisher Team to hand out balloons, cuddly bears and other goodies to excited festival goers.

There were many activities for attendees to get involved with. Accessible bikes and trikes were available for families to cycle around the athletics track. Two accessible climbing walls were available to allow those with disabilities to experience climbing, and wheelchair and frame football matches were played. The Royal Northern Ballet also attended the event providing accessible ballet classes.

A festival wouldn't be complete without music and Accessible Festival had some excellent performances for attendees to listen to. Live bands played on the main stage, including jazz band The Kraken. In addition to the live bands, there were DJs, a UV rave, and even a silent disco. People also had fun getting their faces painted, playing VR games and petting exotic animals.

Accessible Festival was a great event for all those involved, and thankfully the weather was amazing.

Jenny Urwin commented "The team at Fieldfisher are really delighted to have been able to support Accessible Festival this year. It is a much-needed event for people with disabilities and their families. We look forward to Accessible Festival 2019!"
