You are cordially invited to participate on November 5 in an interactive lunchtime session around the topic of EU Trade Defence:  Threats and Opportunities for European Business and Associations.

Trade has taken centre stage around the world. In the context of mounting international trade tensions, protectionism, forced technology transfers and China's Belt and Road Initiative, European Trade Defence Instruments (TDI) play an essential role in defending European employment and preserving economic growth in the region.

This session is a must for European Association Leaders and Heads of Corporate Affairs who would like to gain a better understanding of the common themes and concerns of companies and sectors competing in an ever-more complex and aggressive global trade environment.

Laurent Ruessmann and Jochen Beck, international and EU trade law  Partners, will explain latest developments in addressing the harm caused by illegal dumping and subsidies. Participants can expect to gain solid insights into how competitiveness is undermined by unfair and illegal trade practices and what European businesses and business associations can do to put a stop to these abusive practices.

Participants will benefit from first first-hand insights into recent trade defence cases that have applied the European Union’s new TDI rules. You will also have a unique opportunity to ask questions of experts about the best approach to trade defence under the new Commission.

At the end of this session, participants can expect to have a clear understanding of the key challenges ahead for the EU’s TDIs to address effectively the threats inherent in the international environment now, and in the future.

Dober PartnersDober Partners, a boutique consultancy specialised in trade defence communications, will share their insights into the role of the Court of Public Opinion in trade defence and how to work with the media to support positive policy decisions.
