The recent months have seen increased enforcement activity by competition authorities around Europe concerning procedural infringements under the relevant merger control rules, such as the premature implementation of a notifiable or notified M&A transaction (so called "gun-jumping") or the failure to provide correct and complete data.
Ending up on the wrong side of the law is relatively easy - yet, infringements expose the parties to severe risks, in particular financial penalties and damage to reputation. Given that competition authorities in Europe and across the globe are paying more and more attention to these practices, it has become critical to identify and mitigate those risks.,
This seminar will highlight recent cases in this area before the European Commission as well as the French and Belgian competition authorities and will provide legal and practical guidance on how to avoid falling foul of the law.
We are very honoured to welcome our guest speaker Stéphanie Strievi, Competition Prosecutor at the Belgian Competition Authority (Autorité belge de la Concurrence/Belgische Mededingingsautoriteit) to this seminar. Together with partners Anne-Laure-Hélène des Ylouses (Paris office) and Tom Pick (Brussels office), they will focus on the practices and enforcement in this area by the European Commission and the Belgian and French competition authorities.
12.00h - 14.30h
We are happy to provide you with a lunch buffet during the seminar.
