Pieter advises clients on international trade and regulatory issues under EU and Member State legislation, as well as the application of WTO and other international agreements. Pieter has a particular focus on EU trade defence instruments, customs and export controls.
Before joining Fieldfisher, Pieter was a research associate and doctoral candidate at the Europa-Institut of Saarland University in Germany. His research and teaching activities focused on various aspects of international economic law and dispute resolution. Pieter also interned at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and the OECD in Paris.
In addition to his native Dutch, Pieter speaks English, German and French.
