I work with clients internationally across a broad range of their intellectual property issues, including trade marks, copyright, design rights, database rights, patents and confidential information.
My experience includes working in-house at ITV in the Brand Protection team, where I assisted in managing their large international trade mark portfolio. A highlight of this experience was becoming one of the first people successfully to file a metaverse trade mark application at the UKIPO.
I have used my in-house experience to advise clients on trade mark clearance searches and contentious registry proceedings, including invalidity, revocation and opposition actions. I have particular experience in design law and have advised clients in the lifestyle sector on UK design registration, and clients in the homeware sector on design infringement litigation risk internationally. I also have experience of assisting in large cases, including a High Court copyright infringement claim against an airline.
I have a particular interest in the media, literature, arts, fashion, beauty and sport sectors. I subscribe to The Fashion Law and have attended British Literary and Artistic Copyright Association events, on topics including copyright and theatre, which are great for meeting other professionals in these sectors and to keep on top of legal changes in the industry.
