Professional Profile and BioDavit is an associate in the employment and pensions department of the Brussels office. He advises Belgian and international companies and individuals on all aspects of individual and collective employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, and on social security matters.
He joined the Brussels Bar in 2017.
Before joining Fieldfisher in 2020, Davit gained close to 3 years of experience in two law firms specialised in labour law, Claeys & Engels and Van Olmen & Wynant.
He handled complex and varied labour law cases, including cases of discrimination and harassment in the workplace, and numerous dismissals of top level executives and company directors. At Van Olmen & Wynant, Davit developed a specific practice in the public sector, notably by assisting Proximus on their major and highly mediatized restructuring.
Davit has also played a leading role in the social law support of the collective redundancy of an international transport company, as well as in several Mergers and Acquisitions of IT companies.
He has represented SMEs, multinationals, public undertakings and sovereign States before the courts of first instance and appeal, as well as in urgent or unilateral judicial proceedings. He also drafted a Belgian law certificate of custom for a French Supreme court level international employment case involving multiple employers.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Free University of Brussels (ULB, June 2017) with a Master of Laws in Economic and Social Law, and he spent time on a research secondment at Stockholm University for his master thesis.
Davit is fluent in French, English, Dutch and Armenian. He also has a basic knowledge of Russian.
