I co-ordinate Fieldfisher's employment law work for our financial services clients. I support our clients in resolving their strategic and sensitive people issues.
I have many years' experience advising financial services clients on a full array of employment law issues including complex grievances, restructuring and senior executive terminations.
I mainly act for investment firms, financial institutions and large corporates. I have spent time on secondment at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc.
Above all else, I provide commercial no-nonsense advice. What really gets me out of bed in the morning is collaborating with clients to find creative solutions to their people issues.
I am an author and consultant editor of various chapters of Xpert HR's Employment Law Manual (including key chapters on financial services).
I have published many articles and spoken at a number of seminars and training events on a variety of employment law issues.
I am a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and have been a member of certain of its working parties, including the working party relating to the Government’s response to the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices.
In my spare time I cook, exercise and obsess about my lawn.
My work includes:
- Advising a large financial institution on a disciplinary investigation regarding a senior employee and related regulatory compliance considerations.
- Advising a mid-tier bank in its defence of breach of contract claims and claims that it had failed to comply with the collective redundancy legislation.
- Advising a large private equity firm on the exit of an underperforming CEO of one of its key portfolio companies, and the seamless recruitment of a new CEO.
- Advising a listed investment manager on replacing the provider of its online platform mid-contract, including providing pre-emptive solutions to manage the people issues that would arise.
