I have over 15 years' experience supporting commercial and public sector clients with contentious and non-contentious matters in the fields of international trade, domestic and international public law, and corporate finance.

Most recently I was head of the legal team at the UK's Trade Remedies Authority and the Department for International Trade.  In this role I advised on anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguards investigations in relation to various steel products, fuels and chemicals, and other goods, including acting on the UK's first ever transition review.  I am familiar with the new trade remedies legal framework and can offer insight into the investigative process.

Previously I was a senior lawyer in the UK's Government Legal Department where I conducted judicial reviews across a range of public law issues on behalf of the Home Office, Ministry of Justice and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.  I have a nuanced understanding of the legal issues relating to good public administration, both in terms of advising on decision-making, and in adeptly challenging or defending the decisions of public bodies.

I have also conducted public international law litigation before international courts in the EU, the Americas and Africa, as well as before various UN Treaty Bodies, and spent the first few years of my career advising multi-national companies in the financial, construction, banking and governmental sectors on corporate finance matters.

I enjoy providing technically assured and practical legal advice, taking the time to fully understand the needs of my clients and drawing from my varied legal roles.
