I have worked with regulators and regulated entities in a number of different sectors including the legal, property, gambling, health and finance sectors. I assist clients with governance issues and with the drafting of policies and guidance documents to ensure that they are lawful and effective. I advise clients involved in regulatory investigations, both from the perspective of the regulator and the person or organisation under investigation, and work with clients seeking to challenge or defend decisions made by public bodies. My inquiry experience includes working on both internal and independent inquiries, including non-statutory reviews and investigations.
Examples of my work include:
- Advising the Legal Services Board in successfully defending a judicial review claim brought by the Criminal Bar Association in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court;
- Advising the BBC on an internal inquiry undertaken to investigate its decision to drop a Newsnight investigation into Jimmy Saville;
- Assisting the Groceries Code Adjudicator with her investigation into Tesco PLC and the Co-operative Group Ltd.
I am recommended by Legal 500 as a "Next Generation Partner" lawyer for Administrative and Public Law and named as an Associate to Watch in Chambers, where I am described as "extremely efficient, hard-working and [having] good judgement" and an 'intellectual superstar'.
I completed a degree in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford before obtaining my law degree and LPC from the University of Law.
