We are delighted to announce that Robert Shooter starts his term as Fieldfisher's new Managing Partner, with effect from today.

Robert Shooter commented: "It is with a huge amount of excitement and pride that I begin my term of office as Managing Partner of Fieldfisher today. Following 10 years of successful growth under my predecessor Michael Chissick, the firm is in a great shape. My task is to build on our strong foundations and lead the firm into a new era focused on even greater collaboration, integration and growth.

The past few years have shown what we can achieve internationally. With 25 offices in 11 jurisdictions, we have developed an outstanding platform. It is my ambition to further sharpen our European focus and strengthen our footprint in this region.

As the shape of our business continues to evolve, it is our strategy to remain the first choice for clients for our market-leading expertise in energy and natural resources, technology, life sciences and financial services sectors, and support the rapid growth of our stellar practices, such as, regulatory, corporate and dispute resolution, across our international network.

As I step into the new role, it is also particularly important to me that our business focus is underpinned by a collaborative, dynamic and ambitious firm culture, where the best talent in the market can thrive and fulfil its potential and career goals.”

Robert joined Fieldfisher in 2002 and was made partner in 2006. Widely regarded as a leading technology lawyer, he acted as Head of Fieldfisher's Technology, Outsourcing and Privacy practice between 2012 and 2022 and also led the firm's technology sector team. He has been involved in shaping and executing Fieldfisher's business strategy, as a member of the firm's Executive Board, for a number of years, and has a special focus on innovation in law.
