At an event held last night at the Connaught, international law firm Fieldfisher won the Personal Injury (PI) team of the year award at the Solicitors Journal Awards 2017.
The team took the honours having been shortlisted down to four firms from 37 submissions in the category. Other categories included Law Firm of the Year, Chambers of the Year and Commercial Team of the Year.
Announcing the award, reference was made to the importance and impact of the campaigns and cases run by the department in "Not just changing the law but making the law".
Partner Jill Greenfield commented, "Fieldfisher has such fantastic lawyers fighting for victims and it is a real honour to be a part of the team".
"We are very fortunate to work on such high quality and important cases. Long may that continue," she said.
The Solicitors Journal Awards brings together the elite of the legal profession to recognise excellence in legal practice. The awards are judged by respected and influential specialists in their relevant area of practice, including Sir Geoffrey Nice QC and Paul Magrath, editor of The Business Law Reports.
Paul McNeil, head of Personal Injury and Medical Negligence, congratulated the team on its success and said he was delighted that the department's hard work has been recognised.
