Many people consider Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) to be the instrument of corporate finance in a digital world. On the other hand the authorities and the media warn of potential precariousness
of the new financing instrument. The workshop "ICOs and Compliance" hosted by the University of Cologne will focus on ICOs from a 360 degree perspective.
Technical basic terms of the Blockchain technology based Investment form, the (supervisory) legal framework conditions and compliance strategies directed at this are discussed in the
dialogue with representatives of international law firms and companies, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) as well as experts from the scientific community. A compact presentation of criminal and liability risks for initiators of ICOs complete the conference programme.

Viele betrachten Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) als das Mittel der Unternehmensfinanzierung in einer digitalen Welt. Andererseits warnen Behörden und Medien vor den potentiellen Unsicherheiten des neuen Finanzierungsinstruments.
Der Workshop „ICOs und Compliance“ nimmt ICOs aus einer 360 Grad-Perspektive in den Blick.
Technische Grundbegriffe der auf Blockchain-Technologie basierenden Anlageform, die (aufsichts-)rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen und darauf gerichtete Compliance-Strategien werden im Dialog mit Vertretern internationaler Wirtschaftskanzleien und Unternehmen, der BaFin sowie Experten aus der Wissenschaft erörtert. Eine kompakte Darstellung von Straf- und Haftungsrisiken für Initiatoren von ICOs runden das Tagungsprogramm ab.
