Fieldfisher advises Cenkos Securities plc and Numis Securities Limited on £30.6 million placing by Oxford Catalysts Group plc

Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP has advised new clients, nominated adviser and joint broker Cenkos Securities plc and joint broker Numis Securities Limited, on a placing by AIM-quoted Oxford Catalysts Group plc (OCG) to raise £30.6 million in a secondary offering.

OCG designs, develops and licenses “gas-to-liquids” (GTL) technology for the production of synthetic oil from both conventional fossil fuels and renewable sources.  The funds raised will be used by OCG to accelerate the commercial roll out of its products.  As well as focusing on the construction of small, modular GTL plants which can be deployed at oilfields to convert into oil associated gas that would otherwise be “flared”, OCG is providing the reactors for GreenSky London, a venture between British Airways and Solena Fuels Corp. which will convert waste produced at London City Airport destined for landfill into low-carbon jet fuel and biodiesel.  New investors in the placing included Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich's company, Ervington Investments, and INVESCO.

Fieldfisher Corporate partner Jonathan Brooks led on the deal, assisted by Corporate associate Edward Westhead

Jonathan Brooks said:

"We are delighted to have had the opportunity to advise new clients Cenkos and Numis on this deal and we look forward to working with them again on future projects.  This deal highlights the firm's expertise on AIM and especially in the Energy and Natural Resources sector."

Fieldfisher's Equity Capital Markets team has a client base of over 40 companies quoted on the Official List and AIM markets, as well as a wide range of investment banks, brokers, sponsors and nominated advisers.  Clients include Avocet Mining plc, EMED Mining, President Energy plc and Trap Oil Group plc.  Jonathan Brooks, a specialist in Energy and Natural Resources work, joined the firm as a lateral hire in October 2012.  He is head of the firm's Mining Group and has recently been recommended in the International Who's Who of Mining Lawyers 2013.
