European law firm Fieldfisher has strengthened its offices in Hamburg and Düsseldorf with the hire of five lawyers from SBR Berger Bahr. The lawyers will join on June 1st.
SBR Berger Bahr is a boutique law firm specialising in competition, regulatory and telecommunications law. Through this hiring, Fieldfisher will add two lawyers to its Hamburg office and will establish a presence in Düsseldorf with three lawyers.
Telecommunications expert Georg Berger joins as a partner in the Hamburg office. Under his management, SBR was awarded 'law firm of the year for telecommunications' in 2011 by Germany's leading law firm guide JUVE Awards. Georg also advises clients on regulatory matters, electronic media and antitrust in the context of telecommunications law. Georg will be joined in the Hamburg office by associate Dr. Judith Loeck.
The Düsseldorf office will be taking on two partners, Christian Bahr and Sascha Dethof. Both specialise in advising clients on antitrust matters (including merger control), compliance issues and related issues in IP and IT. Christian Bahr also advises on state aid. The pair were nominated as 'law firm of the year for antitrust law' by JUVE in 2012. They will be supported in developing the Düsseldorf office by associate Anita Malec.
