Fieldfisher partner named in BioBeat's 50 Female Movers and Shakers in BioBusiness 2015.

Beatriz San Martin, a partner in Fieldfisher's Intellectual Property group, has been named in BioBeat's 50 Movers and Shakers in BioBusiness 2015 report.

The report details the leading female talent in the sector in the UK, and comes with a foreword from Steve Bates, the CEO of the UK BioIndustry Association.

Beatriz is described in the report as an intellectual property expert in the life sciences industry, who is known for her expertise on policy making in regenerative medicine and gene editing.

Beatriz joined Fieldfisher in 2004, having previously been a scientist. Her recent work highlights include acting for Eli Lilly in the high profile case against Human Genome Sciences concerning the interpretation of the Supplementary Protection Certificate Regulation, a case that was referred to the Court of Justice of the European Union, and assisting in the long-running Vestergaard Frandsen & Ors v Bestnet Europe Ltd & Ors action concerning long-lasting insecticidal mosquito nets in what has become the leading case on trade secrets (misuse of confidential information) ever litigated in England.
