He works with an impressive array of clients, especially those involved in technology, retail, real estate, manufacturing, insurance, health and financial services.

Frans-Jozef has more than 30 years' experience advising clients on corporate transactions, including M&A, investments, management buy-outs, joint ventures and venture capital transactions.

He acts for clients in a range of sectors, with a particular focus on the technology and renewable energy sectors.

Fieldfisher officially launched its Amsterdam office on 1 May 2017. Today, the firm has 7 partners and a total headcount of 25.

The firm's Netherlands office is structured as a member of a Swiss Verein and has played a key role in Fieldfisher's expansion plans, which today sees the firm operating from 26 offices across 11 countries.

Fieldfisher Amsterdam is known for providing leading corporate, finance and insolvency, business structuring, commercial, compliance and governance and litigation advice to domestic and international clients, and in the past five years has added expertise in employment, IP, Privacy and IT.

Commenting on his appointment as Co-Managing Partner, Marinus de Waal said:

"I am honoured to take the helm of Fieldfisher Netherlands jointly with Frans-Jozef. In addition to our excellent position in the Dutch legal market, the wider firm has carved an eminent reputation as one of Europe's leading law firms.

"This is an exciting new role for me and I hope to continue to enhance the reputation of our office in our specialist areas and expand our capabilities further.

"My thanks to Marcel for the past five years of outstanding leadership."

Co-Managing Partner Frans-Jozef Crousen added:

"We are proud to have played a key role in Fieldfisher's European expansion by providing the firm with an effective foothold the Netherlands for the past five years.

"I would like to add my thanks to Marcel for his service and echo Marinus in my enthusiasm for the future of the Dutch firm."
