European law firm Fieldfisher has appointed Ady van Nieuwenhuizen as an IP/IT/Privacy partner in its growing Amsterdam office. Ady joins from Kneppelhout & Korthals Advocaten, where she was a senior associate/Attorney at Law. Prior to that she was at Ploum Lodder Princen and previously Simmons & Simmons.
Ady is a European intellectual property, marketing, IT and privacy lawyer, with a particular focus on digital media, social media, e-commerce and new technologies. Ady litigates and advises on the classical soft IP issues, but also on issues with respect to marketing, advertising, internet and privacy.
Ady is a member of the editing team at the Dutch advertising blog reclameboek.nl. Formerly she was on the Social Media Marketing Code study committee, where she advised clients on the special new Social Media Marketing advertising code on behalf of the Advertising Law Association.

The appointment of Ady comes soon after Competition partner Manish Bahl's appointment in September 2017 from Eversheds Sunderland and signifies the growth of the office. Fieldfisher opened in Amsterdam on 1st May 2017 with five partners joining from Kennedy Van der Laan. It focuses on corporate, finance and insolvency, business structuring (including inward investment), commercial contracts, competition & regulatory, compliance and governance, corporate litigation and IP, IT and privacy.
