A Fieldfisher team has advised RM Secured Direct Lending plc (RMDL) in respect of two separate loan facilities to acquire and develop solar energy farms in South Wales and Warwickshire. The loans were both made to Solarplicity, a leading UK renewable energy provider supplying the needs of residential, private sector enterprise and public sector customers with domestic and commercial offerings.
The two transactions, which closed in August and September respectively, represent the RMDL's first financing of Solar PV assets following its investment of over £12m into the renewables sector generally in 2017.
Banking partner Jayne Backett led the team alongside Real Estate Partner Jonathan Wright and Construction Partner Cecily Davis.
