Fieldfisher has assisted a group of institutional investors on the acquisition of a photovoltaic portfolio from BayWa r.e. España, S.L. in Spain.
The 13 photovoltaic projects, located on the Spanish mainland and on the island of Majorca, contain ground-mounted and rooftop projects with a total capacity of 36 megawatts, and were installed between 2010 and 2013.
The Fieldfisher team was led by partner Daniel Marhewka, a corporate partner in Fieldfisher's Energy group, based in Munich. He was supported by senior associate Zuzana Meinecke Fábry. Fieldfisher worked closely with the Spanish law firm, GÓMEZ-ACEBO & POMBO Abogados, S.L.P., which advised with regards the due diligence of the projects and on the Spanish law aspects. BayWa r.e. España, S.L. was advised by the Spanish law firm Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira throughout the auction sale process.
