Fieldfisher and Sitemorse collaborate on comprehensive cookie compliance solution
Together with Sitemorse - a leading supplier of web content governance solutions – we launched a comprehensive Cookie Audit and Advisory Service aimed at businesses struggling to comply with the new European Union “cookie consent” requirements.
Bribery Act service shortlisted by the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards
The Bribery Act affects almost every organisation operating in the UK. Our dispute resolution team, led by partner Tony Lewis, developed Integrity, a flexible one-stop compliance solution for clients, that has been shortlisted for the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards 2011.
Fieldfisher boosts Privacy and Information Law Group
Our privacy and information practice continued to grow and strengthen with the appointment of Mick Gorrill, former Head of Enforcement at the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Mick was instrumental in defining and executing the ICO’s regulatory strategy at a time when the regulator significantly increased its powers, overseeing the introduction of financial penalties of up to £500,000 for data security breaches and moving ICO enforcement up the agenda of UK businesses.
Technology and Outsourcing Law Group adopts crowdsourcing
This year also saw the launch of the group’s legal wiki – a collaborative tool for all members of the Technology & Outsourcing Group, from trainees to senior partners, to share knowledge, practice tips and client information.
Expansion in Europe
We continued to expand our European practice, opening new offices in Munich and Dusseldorf. This adds to our existing offices in Paris, Brussels and Hamburg. The move is part of the firm’s strategy to focus on IP & technology, regulatory and corporate advice, servicing businesses that are highly regulated and those with business models driven by IP and technology. The team has a leading reputation in patent litigation, advising on complex multinational cases with a particular emphasis on the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, high tech and telecommunications sectors.
Legal Business Awards 2011 - TMT Team of the Year
Fieldfisher were awarded “TMT Team of the Year” at the Legal Business Awards. The award was a result of the firm advising on the YouView joint venture, widely acknowledged to be one of the most important current developments in the broadcast industry and described as a “game-changer for content providers”.
