LTDA footage "reveals" over half of London cyclists jump red lights

Mark Bowman

Footage from the London Taxi Drivers Association showed that 196 of 364 cyclists jumped a red light whilst being secretly filmed, reports the Evening Standard.
Mark Bowman comments: "What the article fails to mention is that none of the cyclists killed, seriously injured, or in fact threatened another road user or pedestrian in doing so. I am not advocating cycling through red lights, I in fact regularly shout at fellow cyclists that act in such a way, but more emphasis needs to be placed on the road users who are causing deaths and serious injury, than those who, whilst breaking the law, do so at little risk to others. I wonder how many drivers were speaking on their mobile phone, driving over the speed limit or failing to indicate at junctions during the same period..."
