London boroughs to receive substantial investment in cycling facilities to become "mini-Hollands"

London Cycling Campaign has reported that seven London boroughs are to receive funding to improve cycling facilities and cycle routes to make their town centres safer for cyclists. Enfield, Kingston and Waltham Forest are each to receive £30 million to improve existing cycle lanes and install protected cycle lanes for cyclists. Another four boroughs – Bexley, Ealing, Merton and Richmond are to share another £10 million for smaller projects relating to cycling.

We believe, in order for this mini-Holland project to be a success, they must provide safe and inviting streets for people to cycle, which will mean building protected lanes on main roads and ensuring safe passage through key junctions.
