Fieldfisher appoints Johan Verbruggen to lead its Irish Medical Negligence practice




The appointment of leading Irish medical negligence expert will complement Fieldfisher’s renowned international practice

Fieldfisher Ireland LLP has appointed Johan Verbruggen as a Partner and Head of its newly launched Medical Negligence practice.

As one of the leading medical negligence solicitors in Ireland, Johan joins the firm with over ten years of experience securing favourable outcomes for clients affected by medical negligence and catastrophic injury. In particular, Johan has considerable expertise in acting in high value cases of cerebral palsy, Erb's palsy and other birth injuries, as well as surgical errors and negligence, GP negligence and delayed cancer diagnosis, among other cases.

Leading the practice for Fieldfisher Ireland, Johan will play a crucial role in steering the firm's delivery of exceptional service to clients seeking justice in cases of medical wrongdoing. He will also collaborate closely with Fieldfisher’s international team, and in particular working with counterparts in Fieldfisher UK’s renowned medical negligence practice, headed up by Iona Meeres-Young.

Johan, a Galway-native, ran a very successful medical negligence practice in the west of Ireland where he has worked as a professional solicitor for over a decade.
