I am a partner in the dispute resolution group and an expert in helping commercial organisations to resolve their disputes.
I have over 16 years’ experience of representing national and international businesses in a broad range of disputes including complex contractual claims, project-based disputes, technical/construction disputes, corporate and shareholder disputes and commercial agency, trade and distribution disputes. I also handle defamation claims (particularly in the online arena) and other issues requiring urgent injunctive relief.
I represent clients across various industry sectors but with a focus on technology, engineering, energy, life sciences, retail, credit insurance and hotels and leisure. Many of the disputes that I handle have an international dimension with recent cases involving parties in Austria, Finland, Germany, Israel, Italy, Norway, Serbia and Spain.
In addition to court proceedings, I am experienced in international arbitration and have conducted disputes under the major institutional rules (LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL) as well as “ad hoc” arbitrations. I recently led a team in the successful defence of three corporate respondents (in the UK, Germany and Austria) in a substantial LCIA arbitration, including subsequent High Court challenge proceedings, securing a significant costs award in favour of our clients.
I enjoy finding commercial solutions to issues and I am experienced at resolving disputes cost-effectively through negotiation, mediation, adjudication and expert determination.
I am recommended as an expert in my field in the leading legal directories. Chambers & Partners 2015 recognises me for handling “high value litigation with an international focus”; Legal 500 2013 cited me as “highly regarded for international arbitration” and Legal 500 2016 notes my “sound and commercially driven advice”.
Most of my spare time is enjoyed with my young family but I can sometimes be found on a tennis court or attempting to keep fit at the gym.
