James Warren, Partner, Employment and Pensions
I am a dual qualified (UK / NZ) specialist employment solicitor with more than 10 years' experience, focusing on workforce change management, regularly advising on complex outsourcing, TUPE and reorganisation issues.
I have been described in the Legal 500 as a 'clear thinking adviser' providing 'great customer service', 'robust and practice advice' and as having a 'vast knowledge of employment law'. My practice is based in the UK but has a heavy focus on sourcing and managing legal advice and support from other jurisdictions, including for cross-border outsourcing projects and business transformations.
My practice involves a strong client focus and expertise in the TMT sector and I have a wealth of experience with public/private IT outsourcing projects and employee-owned companies. I worked in house in the public sector before joining Fieldfisher and continue to use my previous experience and knowledge gained to better service public sector clients.
I regularly present at seminars and workshops as part of the employment and pensions group’s annual training programme. I have spoken at external conferences on a variety of employment law issues and have been frequently quoted in newspapers (including the Wall Street Journal). I write for Employers Law and Personnel Today and co-authored, with David Gallagher, the employment and pensions chapter of the Law Society’s publication Outsourcing: Law and Practice.
I sit on the Legislative and Policy committee of the Employment Lawyers Association and I am a member of the Industrial Law Society and the Anglo-Australasian Lawyers Society.
