I am an associate in the Dispute Resolution team with a focus on the media and IT industries and complex contractual disputes.
I have acted on a range of media disputes including defamation, privacy and copyright claims against a major broadcaster. I have advised on contempt of court, channel clearance and regulatory issues and assisted with submissions to the Leveson Inquiry.
My IT expertise includes software licencing disputes, IP issues and acting for an ISP required to block pirate websites.
My broad commercial work includes cross-border shareholder disputes, director misfeasance claims, professional negligence and insolvency work (including securing a freezing injunction for a Liquidator). I have also worked on a billion pound international arbitration (with a focus on the structured finance issues and expert evidence) and advised clients at mediation.
I spent two terms at the Court of Appeal as the Judicial Assistant to the Master of the Rolls. I regularly write and deliver presentations to clients (most recently on international commercial arbitration) and have previously drafted submissions on copyright law to the International Association of Judges.
I recently achieved an LLM with distinction, and following my involvement in R (British Sky Broadcasting Ltd) v Central Criminal Court, wrote my dissertation on closed material procedures in civil proceedings.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor I was a professional classical musician and performed frequently at the BBC Proms and Glyndebourne. My spare time is spent playing music, dancing or watching cricket.
