Hannah Smith-Willis, Associate, IP and Technology, Protection and Enforcement
I am a lawyer in Fieldfisher's IP and Technology Protection and Enforcement Group. During my time at Fieldfisher I have gained experience in the Privacy and Information Law Group as well as the Intellectual Property Law Group.
I advise on a wide variety of intellectual property rights. My work involves assisting clients on the enforcement and protection of their IP rights, including initial case analysis, ongoing case strategy and settlement options. I also advise on commercial issues in relation to copyright, patents, trade marks, passing off and domain names
I have completed various in-house secondments, including with MTV Networks Europe, Time, Inc. (UK), the Data Protection Team of a leading national broadcaster, as well as working in the Legal Affairs Team at the British Heart Foundation.
I work with clients across a range of sectors, with a particular emphasis on the TMT and Life Sciences sectors.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, I completed a degree in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford and have a particular interest in population and molecular genetics. I have assisted on a preliminary reference to the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning the interpretation of the SPC Regulation and have published several articles in the Life Sciences sector, including for Cell & Gene Therapy Insights and Intellectual Property Magazine.
I am a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and IPSoc, a society for junior IP practitioners.
