I am a privacy and information law specialist with extensive experience advising a wide range of clients, from multinationals through to growth companies, start-ups and public sector entities. I have a particular focus on the telecommunications, media and technology sectors.
I work with my clients to engineer business solutions to legal problems, help them maximise business opportunities, unlock the value of their data and optimise risk.
I advise on all aspects of data protection and data security law including complex cross-jurisdictional matters, global compliance programmes, new projects and products, commercial deals, managing incidents and data security breaches. My specialties include privacy impact assessments, risk assessments, audits, dealing with regulators and cooperation with law enforcement authorities.
I regularly write and speak internationally on matters of interest to my practice.
I contribute to our Privacy and Information Law Blog and my articles have been published in Data Protection Law and Policy, Computer Law and Security Report and the IAPP Dispatches. I nave also written the practice note on 'Hacking and Computer Misuse' in Lexis Nexis PSL IP&IT (2011) and the chapters on ‘Application of the Law’ and ‘Surveillance Activities’ in European Privacy: Law and Practice for Data Protection Professionals (IAPP 2011). I co-authored the chapter on ‘Mass Market Contracting’ in Computer Law (Reed ed. OUP 2011).
I am a dually qualified English Solicitor and Greek Dikigoros (Athens Bar), a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E), a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and a member of faculty of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). I hold a PhD in internet law and dispute resolution from the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary, University of London
