I am an experienced lawyer in the public and regulatory law group and I service both national and international clients.
In terms of advisory work, I assist both commercial and public sector clients in the UK and overseas in relation to a variety of regulatory matters, particularly private health and social care providers . This includes inquests, safeguarding, employment disciplinary cases and police investigation. I enjoy working with investors profiling assets and assessing potential acquisitions. I have a professional interest in governance and have been involved in strategic reviews looking at the delivery of services as a subject matter expert in conjunction with Fieldfisher Consulting.
In terms of my contentious work, I have undertaken criminal regulatory prosecutions in both the Magistrates and Crown Court and advised on multi-agency working and asset recovery. In relation to health and safety, I defend businesses and individuals in regulatory investigations and criminal prosecutions in both the Crown and Magistrates Court.I am noted in the Legal 500 2016 as being "particularly efficient and terrier like when pursuing the best interests of her client."
In addition, I have experience in the investigation, prosecution and defence of complex cases before a variety of regulatory fitness to practise committees. I also have experience of conducting High Court appeal work including judicial review proceedings that have involved applications for interim relief and complex disclosure issues and have a specific interest in procedural based legal argument.
In terms of my sports practice, I have represented both amateur and professional clubs/sportspeople in disciplinary proceedings at both a regional and national level. In addition, I have provided advice to sports clubs on a range of matters including the interpretation of and compliance with tournament and salary cap regulations. In 2016 I was appointed as a national safeguarding panellist by the Rugby Football Union.
I have provided bespoke training to public bodies in relation to compliance and risk management and have experience in the management of large employment disciplinary investigations. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers (ARDL).
