Jenny Lau, Senior Associate, Dispute Resolution
I am a Senior Associate in the dispute resolution team with broad commercial dispute resolution experience.
Since qualification, I have been involved in a wide variety of litigation matters including various finance-related and insolvency disputes, non-competition/confidentiality disputes, shareholder disputes, trade/supplier disputes and cross-border enforcement.
I am currently assisting in substantial Commercial Court proceedings against a well known investment bank. I am also acting with Andrew Lafferty in a claim against two German charitable foundations concerning the proper calculation of close-out payments under certain ISDA Master Agreements.
I also assisted Kit Jarvis with advising a creditor on issues arising in the administration of the HMV and Blockbuster group companies. We assisted the client in its negotiations with the administrators, Deloitte, in the UK and Ireland and managed to achieve a satisfactory settlement for the client.
I have contributed to the New Law Journal and the Company Secretary Review. I also acted as the interviewer in a series of CPD-accredited dispute resolution webcasts and have provided external and internal training seminars on boiler plate clauses and arbitration / jurisdiction clauses.
I am fluent in Cantonese.
In my spare time, I enjoy the theatre, am an avid reader and lover of the great outdoors. Before becoming a mother, I climbed, sailed, hiked and travelled around the world.
