Yuliya Kupchenko, Associate, Dispute Resolution
I am an associate in the Dispute Resolution department and a member of the cross-departmental Russia & CIS Group.
My current practice is focused on international arbitration including international investment treaty disputes. I have assisted on arbitration proceedings under the ICSID Convention, UNCITRAL, SCC and LCIA Arbitration Rules.
I have a strong background working on high value, complex commercial litigation particularly involving issues of civil fraud in the High Court of England & Wales. I have experience advising clients in breach of fiduciary duties claims, proceedings brought by the Pension Regulator, shareholder disputes and contractual disputes. I have also acted for clients in relation to injections including asset freezing injunctions, as well as contempt of court proceedings.
My previous experience includes preparation of appeals of HMRC Tax assessments to the First-tier Tribunal (Tax), particularly in relation to allegations of Missing-Trader Inter-Community (MTIC) VAT Fraud.
I joined Fieldfisher in 2015 having qualified in a top-tier boutique City firm. I had cross-qualified from the Bar of England and Wales in 2013.
In addition to English I am a native Russian and Ukrainian speaker.
Outside of work I regularly practice hot dynamic yoga.
