Natalie Konings, Senior Associate, Dispute Resolution
I have particular expertise in advising clients on contentious and non-contentious issues relating to tort and contractual law. I have broad experience in commercial disputes, domestically and internationally. My key expertise is in commercial/corporate disputes, franchising and distribution agreements, consumer protection rights, defamation and bankruptcy proceedings. I am also experienced in arbitration under various institutional rules.
I recently successfully advised a client within arbitration proceedings relating to a shareholders dispute including the unfair performance of pre-emption and earn-out provisions.
My practice also includes EU regulatory matters involving chemicals, biocides and pesticides, as well as consumer protection and public health. I advise clients with the Biocidal Products Regulation, including data sharing negotiations with third parties.
I have written several articles in commercial law, namely on bankruptcy, directors' liability and recent corporate governance developments in Belgian law. I participated in the editing of a legal reference book in Belgian corporate law: Société Anonyme, Répertoire pratique du droit belge.
I also hold a mandate as a teaching assistant in corporate law at the Belgian University of Louvain and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School.
Prior to joining Fieldfisher, I specialized in corporate law and worked in the corporate department of international law firms based in Brussels.
I am fluent in French, English and Dutch.
