I am a New York attorney and for most of my 18-year career I have focused on digital and traditional entertainment, with significant experience representing clients in the development, exploitation and distribution of entertainment assets (music, TV, film) and other intellectual property across all forms of media. I act for production companies, studios and talent, as well as advertising agencies, publishers and games and app developers.

For many years my primary clients have been creative companies in the UK and Europe and I am pleased that I can now "breathe the same air" and work in closer proximity to them.

A good deal of my practice is negotiating complex transactions to finance, develop, acquire, exploit and distribute content across all platforms, often where business development opportunities arise or attract investment due to their convergence.  I have a particular expertise in structuring joint ventures that join up legacy and new content with digital platforms and media and regularly advise on corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, licencing and services agreements. My work has also included transactional and advisory work in online marketing, advertising and ecommerce as well as in interactive entertainment and brand development.

Many of the deals I have worked on have been first-of-their-kind, for properties and projects as diverse as American Idol, Munchies, The Food Network Magazine, Comcast Interactive and the National Music Publishers Association.  I was named a New York "Super Lawyer" (top 5% of practising lawyers based on peer voting) by Thompson Reuters in 2009-2014.

I studied politics and law at Boston College and Boston College law school.  In my spare time I produce independent films, explore new London neighbourhoods with my family and spend too much time thinking about Tottenham Hotspur.
