Verity Ellis, Associate, Intellectual Property
I am an associate in Fieldfisher's IP and Technology, Protection and Enforcement group. I joined Fieldfisher in 2017, having trained and worked at a leading international firm followed by a boutique IP practice in London.
I advise clients across a wide range of contentious intellectual property matters, providing commercial advice to new and established brands in pre and post litigation scenarios. With a particular focus on brand protection strategy and enforcement, I specialise in trade mark, design and patent disputes, alongside passing off and counterfeiting issues. I have experience of litigation in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, High Court (both Chancery and Queen's Bench divisions) and Court of Appeal, together with registry actions.
Most recently I have worked on an interesting trade mark case which included defamation and malicious falsehood claims, and successfully defended an EUIPO appeal for a household name.
I enjoy writing articles for external publications and contributing to the firm's 'SnIPpets' intellectual property blog.
Outside of work I try to be outdoors as much as possible, be it on a bike or a pair of skis.
