Caroline Bass, Associate, IP and Technology, Protection and Enforcement
I am an Associate solicitor in Fieldfisher's IP Enforcement and Litigation Group. I trained at the firm, spending three of my four training seats in the wider IP Group. I have gained broad experience in a variety of contentious and non-contentious work across the full spectrum of IP rights and have recently obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property from Oxford University.
I have assisted clients with disputes in a variety of forums, including in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Intellectual Property and Enterprise Court ("IPEC"). I also regularly advise clients on disputes relating to trade marks and design rights before the UK and European Union intellectual property offices ("UK-IPO" and "EU-IPO").
I also have experience in managing anti-counterfeiting issues with customs and trading standards authorities.
I am a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and IPSOC (a committee for junior IP practitioners).
Prior to working at Fieldfisher, I studied Law and French at Newcastle University (with a year at the Faculté de Droit in Montpellier, France). I speak good French and Italian, and have a basic grasp of Spanish too.
