I have over ten years of legal practice specialising in taxation, foreign investment, company compliance, human resources and intellectual property.
I am a tax specialist on all tax issues, including enterprise income tax, individual income tax and value added tax, etc. I have advised numerous international clients on tax issues, including a leading US non-profit applied research and development organization, one of the world’s largest commercial airplane assemblies and components suppliers, a US shipping classification organization, and a leading international oil and gas drilling, forestry, mining equipments manufacturer.
I also advise international clients on establishing subsidiaries and representative offices in China. I also have experience on reorganisation of an international highway construction group with its FDI enterprises in China, and the acquisition of a Chinese company by a Fortune 500 group.
I advise clients across a wide range of industries such as energy, engineering machinery, medical equipment, and software. I have extensive knowledge of laws and regulations, administrative procedures, corporate documents and all types of contracts.
As to corporate governance and human resources, I have advised international companies and institutes, such as a leading Canadian oil company, the world's largest commercial airplane assemblies and components supplier, and a US financial analyst professionals' qualification organization, a global luxury brand, as well as one of the biggest oil field service groups with regard to preparation, enforcement and release of labor contracts, review of internal rules and regulations, as well as secondment arrangements.
I also have extensive experience in trademark law, including registration and enforcement. I participated in copyright enforcement work in China on behalf of a well-known US postgraduate education management organization, litigation against a Beijing company's copyright infringing activities resulting in a settlement (listed as one of the ten leading IP cases in Beijing in 2009). In addition, I have represented overseas clients in trademark registration and enforcement, inlcuding acting for a US youth development organization with regard to applications and registration of trademarks in China, Japan, South Korea, Philippines and Bangladesh.
Previously, I was a partner at a domestic law firm and Legal Counsel of an American firm’s Beijing Office, and was an official of Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office of the State Council of P.R.C for over 10 years.
I obtained my LLM degree of Common Law from the Faculty of Law at Hong Kong University in 2006, and a Bachelor Degree in both Economic Law and International Economic Law from Faculty of Law Peking University in 1995.
My mother tongue is Chinese and I am also fluent in English.
