Amy An, Partner, Intellectual Property
My focus is in IP law, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters.
I started my IP practice since 2006, and have represented a number of high-profile clients from automotive and TMT industries. I have also handled numerous cases involving trademark infringement, copyright law and unfair competition law, including my successful representation of Johnson & Johnson in defending in the first action against damage claims in a trademark dispute procedure. I also have extensive experience in other IP practice areas. For example, I was authorized by Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Bureau and other Chinese IP authorities to take the lead in several IP research projects. I assist clients in formulating IP strategy and with the drafting of IP protection manuals.
I also specilaise in advising foreign investors on establishment of all types of corporations in China and assist with contract review and negotiations in relation to the daily operation of their Chinese subsidiaries.
I act as legal counsel for a number of local and foreign companies. I advise on their day-to-day legal matters, including labor law, contract review, contractual disputes and product liability disputes.
Following years of academic training and practicing at leading law firms, I am able to provide high-quality legal services for clients globally.
I received my LLM degree in law from the University of Glasgow. I received Bachelor degree of Law from Shenyang Normal University in 2002.
I am a native Mandarin speaker and also fluent in English.
