Fieldfisher boosts Manchester office with new Employment Partner - David Carmichael

Fieldfisher announces the appointment of David Carmichael as a partner in its Manchester office. David focuses on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, spanning the lifetime of the employment relationship. He joins the firm on 26th January 2015.
David joins from Eversheds where he was a legal director for 2 years. Prior to this, he worked at Pannone LLP where he was head of employment and worked for 11 years. He was promoted to partner in 1997. Before that, he was a solicitor at Davies Arnold Cooper for four years in London.
David specialises in:
- Executive termination (acting for both employees and employers)
- Restrictive covenant drafting and enforcement by injunctive action (both prosecuting and defending such claims)
- The employment implications of corporate restructuring
- Outsourcing and TUPE issues
- Claims with cross border considerations or an international dimension
He acts for a wide range of clients from multinationals, financial institutions, and owner managed businesses, being instructed by in house lawyers, HR professionals and executive directors. He also acts as trusted adviser to senior executives in connection with discrete managed entry and termination issues.
This appointment follows the hire of non-contentious insolvency partner Michelle Shean, who also joined from Panonne LLP in May last year.
