We are delighted to invite you to our annual Student Fitness to Practise event, in conjunction with the University of Manchester.

This year's programme is designed for anyone involved in Student Fitness to Practise proceedings from investigators to panellists through to Academic Leads and University Legal services. This full day session will cover key themes and topics such as:

  • Principles and developments over the last year
  • Dealing with challenges and appeals
  • Student Fitness to Practise from the professional regulator's perspective
  • Dealing with health and mental health issues

In addition, this year we are also offering an additional full day programme which is designed to be more interactive and offers delegates the opportunity to further explore common challenges and discuss issues they are facing in their own colleges and universities. The day includes:

  • Interviewing and Report Writing Workshop
  • Tackling difficult procedural problems
  • Students and social media
  • Dealing appropriately with mitigating evidence

Feedback from our previous conference confirms that delegates who attend our sessions come away with greater insight into the complexities of student fitness to practise, and are better equipped to minimise the risk of preparing a procedurally flawed disciplinary framework that is vulnerable to legal challenge.

Guest Speaker

We are delighted to welcome again Professor Tim David, Professor of Child Health and Paediatrics at the University of Manchester and this year we will enhance the student fitness to practise perspective with a speaker from a professional regulator, providing an opportunity to put student fitness to practise in the context of professional regulation.

We look forward to seeing you there!
