We are delighted to invite you to the Fieldfisher Privacy Summit, the flagship event of our market leading Privacy, Security and Information Law Practice. This full day event will be held at our offices in London on Tuesday 7 February 2017.

We thought 2015 was arguably the most exciting year in the history of privacy. Well 2016 has brought even more changes, challenges and chances to this field: the GDPR was published; the EU-US Privacy Shield took over from Safe Harbour, e-Privacy legislation is being reformed, a new UK Information Commissioner arrived and last but not least the UK referendum result was for Brexit, adding a sizable serving of uncertainty.

Never a dull moment it seems! So what does all this mean for your organisation in practice? What are you doing to be GDPR ready by May 2018? Is your compliance framework in good shape? Are you prepared for Privacy Impact Assessments? Is your data security good enough? What is your strategy for international data transfers? Or are you simply fed up of hearing that we need more clarity around the GDPR and want some practical points to implement?

In our presentations and workshops we will analyse and give practical takeaways on:

  • Getting GDPR ready;

  • Guidance from the Article 29 Working Party and the Regulators on the GDPR;

  • Changes to the e-Privacy legislative regime;

  • Privacy Impact Assessments;

  • Latest developments in data exports;

  • Cyber and data security breaches; and

  • Data subject rights, including the prospect of class actions under the GDPR.

During the breaks and the drinks reception at the end of the day you will have the opportunity to network with our lawyers and your peers from other leading organisations.
